The Single Use Bag Reduction and Recycling Program is a partnership with supermarkets and retailers, environmental groups, the plastic bag industry, local government, and the public focused on reducing single use bag usage over time, increasing the use of reusable bags, and increasing at store recycling of plastic bags. Each year in LA County alone, 6 Billion single use carry out plastic bags are consumed. Let's work together to reduce waste and protect our environment.

Couture Cruiser debuts its collection of bicycle basket liner tote bags
for the first time at Interbike, North America's bicycle trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada. Couture Cruiser makes a splash at the show and many new bicycle dealers decide to introduce the collection into their stores.

Couture Cruiser sponsors a charity event benefiting the Surfrider Foundation in Costa Mesa's Triangle Square, California to help support their efforts. The summer beach party themed event was a day of fun for the crowd!
The Surfrider Foundation is a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world's oceans, waves and beaches for all people, through conservation, activism, research and education.

Update on Local Community Support
In an effort to help promote environmental protection, reduce smog, conserve fuel, reduce traffic, and promote fitness, the City of Huntington Beach held a Bike To Work Week for all its employees. To help support their effort, Couture Cruiser donated basket liner tote bags as prizes to those who participated. Congratulations to the lucky winners! Couture Cruiser hit the runway in a downtown Long Beach, California cycle style fashion show this past Saturday, April 4th, 2009 at 7pm! Models were stylized by Carol of Couture Cruiser, bicycle fashion wardrobe stylist and designer. Couture Cruiser's bike basket liner tote bags (shown left here in Surfin Sandy) were featured on the models bike baskets as the crowds enjoyed watching the models cruise to the runway.
